Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an entry-level Take Up 1 operator for the Villa Rica, GA plant. The role rewinds material to length, performs spark testing, and strips insulation from copper and aluminum wire for routing to mills. This position is part of the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:50 PM–11:00 PM).

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic English skills, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Cross training and safety/quality responsibilities are emphasized in the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Run a specified package length.
• Set up spark-tester properly.
• Tag and package product correctly.
• Produce a quality product according to specs and visual checks.
• Possible painting of wire, print removal, or reprinting during rewinding.
• Make a quality patch on defective material when needed.
• Strip insulation off scrap wire.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
