Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky – Education & Labor Cabinet, Department of Education, Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville, is seeking a Student Development Assistant for the 2nd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 3:30pm–11:30pm). The role includes supervising students, assisting with homework and literacy, and maintaining dorm safety and order.

Requirements: high school graduate and one year of experience in student development or education.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• One year of experience working with individuals in a student development or education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and instruction to students regarding homework and study; ensure safety and accountability; maintain dorm cleanliness.
• Assist students with independent living skills and literacy; help with organization of leisure time.
• Interprets and applies school policies related to the student development program, including discipline; maintain records and reports; attend meetings.
• Complete and maintain student records/reports; attend necessary student meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
