Job summary

Seven Counties Services in Louisville, KY is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to support individuals with mental health and related needs on a 2nd shift (3:00 - 11:30 pm).

The role teaches ADL skills, provides therapeutic feedback, facilitates community activities, and coordinates with schools, families, and other providers to ensure quality care. A high school diploma is required and 0–1 year of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Zero to one year of experience in mental health services preferred.
• Ability to communicate with verbal and nonverbal individuals.
• Good interpersonal skills and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach ADL activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and meal prep.
• Monitor ADL performance and provide therapeutic feedback.
• Educate clients about recovery and medication side effects.
• Plan community-based activities and assist with appointments and transport.
• Facilitate access to community resources and job placements.
• Maintain a safe environment using de-escalation and behavior management when needed.
• Collaborate with schools, landlords, families, and service providers.
• Provide transportation following safety protocols.
• Document services with logs, attendance, and incident reports.
• Protect patient confidentiality per laws and regulations.
