Job summary

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) invites applications for a KSB/KSD Instructional Assistant in Louisville. Responsibilities include assisting students with disabilities, supporting teachers, and preparing instructional materials.

Requires high school diploma and two years’ school experience; SLPI Survival level within 12 months is mandatory. This is a full-time, salaried role with potential overtime, located at 1867 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience working within a school or classroom environment.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EDUCATION: Additional education will substitute for the required experience year-for-year.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: None

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in a classroom setting, during transition between buildings and classes and on school trips.
• Collaborate with teachers, follow directions and assist with instructional needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and support behavior management.
• Attend trainings and may cover classes when necessary.
