Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an SS Welder Operator to join our Stainless Steel unit on the 2nd shift, welding stainless cylinders using TIG and training for hand-weld repairs.

You will operate complex welding equipment, read blueprints, and support machine operation tasks, with safety training and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. This role includes overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read blue prints.
• Experience as Machine Operator I in Stainless Steel.
• Welding experience with TIG; pass hands-on test.

Responsibilities

• Operates highly complex machinery used in the production process.
• From prints, adjusts and TIG welds stainless steel shells and components.
• Performs semi-complex machine set-ups; loads welder with component parts to be welded.
• Ensures machines are operating at required capacity and that production requirements are met.
• Monitors the performance of equipment, troubleshoots and resolves problems to maintain efficiency.
