Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace unit seeks an experienced manufacturing supervisor for the Surface Mount (SMT) area in Melbourne, FL. This onsite, second shift role focuses on safety, quality, on-time delivery, and coaching your team to meet ambitious production goals.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Materials, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance, driving data-driven improvements and adherence to regulatory standards in a fast-paced, automated environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations in Surface Mount (SMT) production area, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved.
• Manage, coach, and develop manufacturing employees while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor production schedules, prioritize work, and optimize workflow to meet customer commitments and operational objectives.
• Drive quality compliance by ensuring manufacturing processes, documentation, and products meet established standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Materials, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to resolve production issues and minimize operational disruptions.
• Monitor production performance through data analysis, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, process optimization, waste reduction, and operational excellence.
• Support manufacturing innovation initiatives, including automation, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Interface with internal and external customers to resolve production concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies while supporting employee engagement and operational excellence.
