Job summary

Fabick Cat in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking a 2nd Shift Shop Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment and related systems. You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting on customer and company machines, following manufacturer specifications and safety rules.

The role requires 2–5 years of hands-on heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience troubleshooting heavy equipment; CAT experience preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment with diagnostic laptops, gauges and instruments.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, engines and systems.
• MSHA certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose repair needs and perform repairs on Caterpillar equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble components to manufacturer specs.
• Load/unload equipment and order parts as needed.
• Comply with OSHA safety rules and perform duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Technical/vocational training

Journeyman status preferred

Strong problem solving and math skills

Excellent communication skills
