Fabick Cat in Missouri seeks a skilled heavy equipment technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment at our Springfield-area service center.

You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagnostics, conduct preventive maintenance, read manuals, order parts, and ensure OSHA safety standards are met. A strong client-facing communication and team mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and technical or vocational training.
• Two to five years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, CAT preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and schematics; MSHA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform repairs on CAT machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Use diagnostic laptops, gauges, and instruments to identify faults.
• Disassemble and reassemble components per manufacturer specifications.
• Read manuals, order parts, and document service needs.
• Load/unload equipment from vehicles.
• Adhere to OSHA safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
