Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a Shop Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment at our Fenton, MO location. The role involves structured diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on customer and company machines, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and accurate repair execution.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of heavy equipment experience, strong problem-solving and reading of schematics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent required, technical/vocational training preferred.
• Two to five years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment; Caterpillar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose repair needs and perform repairs on customer or company equipment as directed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Disassemble and reassemble components per manufacturer specs using hand/pneumatic tools.
• Follow safety rules and read work orders and manuals.
