Job summary

Stowers Machinery Corporation is seeking a 2nd shift technician to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment in the main shop. You will document all actions, parts, and findings in work orders and coordinate with shop leadership to maintain workflow and meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair procedures.
• Strong communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with shop leadership.
• Ability to complete accurate documentation and follow established processes.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop best practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or an Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment in the main shop.
• Complete preventative maintenance services including fluid changes, inspections, and adjustments.
• Document all findings, parts used, and repair actions in work orders.
• Communicate equipment condition and recommended repairs to supervisors.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist with moving equipment in and out of the shop as needed.
• Support warranty repair processes and proper documentation.
