Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a dependable Shipping/Receiving Clerk for the 2nd shift at our Columbus, OH warehouse. This role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, maintains trailer records, and communicates with carriers to ensure loads are processed safely and on time.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, prior shipping/receiving or warehouse experience, and strong attention to detail. Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and clear communication with drivers and

High school diploma or GED required.
Shipping/receiving, transportation, logistics or warehouse experience is required.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Schedule inbound and outbound load appointments via email.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date list of trailers on the yard.
Coordinate with yard jockeys to ensure dock door availability.
Process inbound, outbound, and sort transactions using RedLink.
Communicate with carriers to ensure loads are picked up and delivered on time.
Review inbound paperwork for accuracy and proper documentation.
Identify, report or address contamination and potential food safety issues.
Maintain records related to shipping and receiving activities.
Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and management.
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
