Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator I on the 2nd shift in Troy, IL. Core hours are 3:00pm–11:00pm, with overtime possible. The role involves operating sheet metal fabrication machines, reading shop orders, and inspecting quality with calipers and other calibration tools.

Ideal candidates have basic computer skills and experience reading blueprints. The position offers day-one benefits and a strong safety/quality training program to ensure reliable, safe production.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Eaton will not sponsor CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or similar visas.
• No relocation benefit; candidates must live within 50 miles of Troy, IL.
• Preferred: 2+ years of machine operating experience.
• Preferred: ability to read blueprints or schematics.
• Preferred: experience with calibration equipment such as calipers.
• Preferred: SAP experience.
• Preferred: basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate sheet metal fabrication machines and read shop orders.
• Interpret engineering drawings and perform quality checks.
• Use calibration equipment (e.g., calipers) to ensure accuracy.
• Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum) and run various operations.
• Follow safety and process guidelines and support continuous improvement.
