Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Set-Up Operator on 2nd shift in Sedalia, MO. The role involves setting up and operating welding machines, punch presses and related equipment, following specifications and safety rules.

You will contribute to TPM, 5S, and lean initiatives while ensuring equipment reliability and quality. You’ll train new hires, perform minor repairs, and work with blueprints to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety rules and procedures.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, TPM).
• Ability to set up and operate welding machines and presses.
• Read and interpret basic drawings/blueprints.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up machine tools per specs and tooling instructions.
• Maintain equipment health with TPM checks and 5S practices.
• Perform minor repairs and adjust equipment to meet quality standards.
• Modify equipment as needed for process changes and safety.
• Train new hires and temps on setup procedures and safety.
