Job summary

SIDNEY CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an anticipated Custodian for the 2nd shift to maintain a safe, clean school environment. Reports to the Building Principal and Maintenance Supervisor, with duties spanning security checks, cleaning, minor repairs, and coordination with staff.

Starting date is immediate; position offers full-time hours with an hourly wage. Compliance with MSDS/AHERA/EPA/OSHA/PERRA regulations is required, and candidates should have custodial experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary technical/trade school graduate preferred.
• Meets health requirements (e.g., TB test).
• Clear criminal record documentation required.
• School custodial experience is required.
• Self-directed, takes initiative to plan and complete tasks.
• Knowledge of MSDS, AHERA, EPA, OSHA, and PERRA regulations.
• Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to operate lawn and snow removal equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs building security checks and monitors equipment.
• Checks daily activity needs and prepares or cleans as required.
• Inspects custodial equipment for safe operation.
• Maintains inventory of custodial supplies and replenishes as needed.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains safe, sanitary conditions.
• Reports accidents and safety concerns promptly.
