Job summary

MAISD seeks a Building Custodian for 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) to maintain a clean and safe environment for students and staff. You will handle cleaning duties, operate floor machines, and support district meetings and events under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Ability to interact politely and professionally with students, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Disinfect high-touch surfaces, restrooms, and classrooms daily.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum assigned zones.
• Respond to biohazard cleanups as needed.
• Set up and breakdown of conference areas and classrooms.
• Operate floor machines to maintain all floor surfaces.
• Collect and remove trash and recycling; maintain exterior areas.
• Monitor safety and secure entries at shift end.
• Keep walkways clear of debris, snow, and ice.
• Communicate effectively with custodial team and staff.
