Job summary

KCC Companies is seeking a Safety Specialist for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 2:00pm-11:00pm) in Louisville, KY. This role supports safety programs across manufacturing operations, conducts trainings, and drives incident investigations with shop leadership.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of safety experience, a BS in Occupational Safety and Health, and strong teamwork skills; flexibility to adapt to a changing schedule is required.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or construction setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health.
• Must have experience working in a team environment.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Educate and communicate KCC safety policies/procedures.
• Develop short and long-term safety goals.
• Present training modules for groups of varying sizes.
• Participate in safety committees to drive shop floor safety presence.
• Facilitate root cause investigations with shop floor leadership.
• Complete required inspections and drive closure to findings.
• Conduct site hazard analysis through the JSA program.
• Assist with proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Develop relationships with professional organizations and vendors.
• Participate in government agency inspections.
• Work off shift hours and respond to calls as needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the EHS Manager.
