Job summary

KCC Companies in Louisville, KY is seeking a Safety Specialist for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 2:00pm-11:00pm) to enhance safety performance across manufacturing operations.

You will educate on safety policies, lead investigations, conduct inspections, and participate in safety committees while supporting incident prevention and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting or construction setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health.
• Must have experience working in a team environment.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Educate and communicate KCC safety policies/procedures.
• Participate in the development of short and long-term safety goals.
• Present training modules for small and large groups.
• Participate in safety committees to drive shop floor safety presence.
• Facilitate root cause investigations for all reported incidents with leadership.
• Complete inspections and drive closure to findings.
• Complete site hazard analysis through JSA program.
• Assist with proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Develop relationships with professional organizations and vendors.
• Participate in government agency inspections.
• Work off shift hours and respond to calls when needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the EHS Manager.

KCC is seeking a driven individual with a passion for safety to help drive KCC towards world class safety performanceon 2 nd shift.Shift time will be from2:00 PM–11:00PMMonday thru Fridaywith some variances according to the production schedule.

Essential Functions:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.
• Ability to perform activities including bending,stooping, standing, liftingup-to50 lbs.
• Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
