Job summary

H O Bostrom in Wisconsin seeks a Welder 1 to join our manufacturing team. You will weld components using MIG or CNC robot welding, follow weld procedures, and work with blueprints and assembly instructions to ensure quality and performance.

You will measure and inspect parts, adjust equipment settings, and maintain logs. A forklift certification and robotic welding experience are preferred for this role, with a focus on production efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints for geometric and tolerance details.
• Good math, counting, and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Works well in a team and follows directions.

Responsibilities

• Welds components per procedures, layouts, blueprints, or oral instructions.
• Positions and clamps parts using fixtures or jigs.
• Adjusts amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse per specs.
• Measures dimensions with calipers, micrometers, or dial indicators.
• Guides electrode or gun along weld line to achieve required fusion and bead.
• Inspects welds with gauges for tolerances.
• Selects torch, tip, and filler rod per WPS.
• Trims, sands, drills, and deburrs parts as needed.
• Maintains and troubleshoots welding equipment.
