Job summary

H O Bostrom is seeking a Welder I to join our manufacturing team in Wisconsin. The Welder I will join metal components using MIG processes or CNC robotic welding, following blueprints and WPS to meet quality standards.

Perform measurements, adjust equipment, and document production activities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include preparing parts, clamping assemblies, verifying tolerances, and assisting with procedural development.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints for geometric and tolerance details.
• Strong math and measurement skills for part dimensions.
• Clear English communication skills required.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and within team.
• Forklift certified as required in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Welds components per procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or verbal instructions.
• Positions and clamps workpieces in jigs or fixtures.
• Adjusts amperage, voltage, slope and pulse as specified.
• Measures dimensions with micrometers, calipers, or dial indicators.
• Guides electrode or gun along weld line to achieve depth and bead quality.
• Visually inspects welds using gauges to ensure tolerances.
• Selects torch, tip, and filler rod per Weld Procedure Specifications.
• Trims, sands and drills parts as required and deburrs.
• Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
• Documents actions and communicates needs across shifts.
• Assists engineering in Weld Procedure Specifications development.
