Premise Health Inc. in Middletown, CT is seeking a Full-Time 2nd Shift Registered Nurse in Occupational Health to provide on-site, employee-focused care at our Health Center.

The role offers a consistent 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule, with you as the sole nurse on the second shift, independently managing daily clinic operations, treatments, tests, and health programs while coordinating with the TPA and client. Strong clinical judgment and ability to work without on-site nursing support are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice required; BSN preferred.
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S) or related areas preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS may be required by contract.
• Minimum of three years’ RN experience in occupational health or ambulatory care.
• Experience promoting healthy workplaces and return-to-work exams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance and manage required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC).
• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within scope of practice.
• Deliver care to injured workers and coordinate case management with TPA and client.
• Implement transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Perform and document medical tests and screenings (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Administer medications and provide emergency care as allowed by scope.
• Maintain equipment and infection control procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient health records and follow-up care.
• Educate patients on health promotion and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and departments on health programs and injury prevention.
• Assist with accident investigations and return-to-work programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

2nd Shift RN, Occ Health - $3,000 Sign-On Bonus!

As a Full-Time, 2nd Shift Registered Nurse in Occupational Health, you’ll provide high-quality, employee-focused care at our on-site Health Center in Middletown, CT.

This role offers a consistent second-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, making it an excellent fit for nurses who prefer evening hours, enjoy daytime flexibility, and thrive outside the traditional daytime schedule.

As the sole nurse on our second shift, you'll work independently in a highly autonomous role, managing daily clinic operations and serving as the primary clinical resource for employees. Success in this position requires strong clinical judgment, confidence in independent decision-making, and the ability to prioritize effectively without direct on-site nursing support.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $40.80 - $51.00 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors. $3,000 Sign-On Bonus!
