Job summary

Summer Garden Food Manufacturing in Boardman, OH is seeking a Retort Loader Machine Operator for the 2nd shift. Safely operate the loader and ensure GMP and SQF procedures are followed in a fast-paced food production environment.

The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, basic math, and reading/writing English; in-house training and OSHA-compliant practices are provided to ensure safe operations and team collaboration in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Frequent lifting of material up to and including 50 pounds.
• Able to read and write English fluently
• Basic mathematic and reading skills.
• Regularly required to talk, hear and see
• Frequently required to stand, walk and bend.

Responsibilities

• Safely and properly changeover and operate equipment located in the immediate retort work area.
• Properly and thoroughly clean and sanitize the immediate work area.
• Ensure retort cages are stored safely in the proper area.
• Perform operator level adjustments and preventative maintenance on equipment located in the immediate work area.
• Successful and accurate completion of all paperwork and touch screen entries.
• Ensure completion of any and all rework including directing and training temporary workers to complete tasks.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP’s/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls.
