Job summary

Summer Garden Food Manufacturing in Boardman, OH is seeking a Retort Loader Machine Operator for the 2nd shift. The role involves safely operating the loader and related equipment while adhering to GMP, SQF, and OSHA standards. Prior forklift/Pallet Jack use will be supported by in-house training.

Responsibilities include changeovers, area cleaning, paperwork, and supporting temporary staff. The position requires physical ability and the flexibility to work in varied temperatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Frequent lifting of material up to 50 pounds.
• Able to read and write English fluently.
• Must be able to work in hot/humid and cold environments.
• In-house forklift and pallet jack operation training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely changeover and operate equipment in the retort work area.
• Clean and sanitize the immediate work area.
• Ensure retort cages are stored safely.
• Perform operator maintenance on equipment in the area.
• Complete paperwork and touchscreen entries accurately.
• Direct and train temporary workers to complete tasks.
• Follow safety regulations (GMP/SQF/OSHA).
• Operate forklift and pallet jack as required.
• Load retort cages into the retort when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
