Job summary

New York Air Brake, a Knorr-Bremse group company, is seeking a Repair Technician I for 2nd shift. Train on the morning shift Mon–Thu 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, then move to 2nd shift Mon–Thu 4:45 PM to 3:15 AM with Fridays overtime and a $1/hr shift differential.

Benefits start day one. Responsibilities include disassembly/reassembly of freight valves and brake pistons, operating buffers and washers, and ensuring safety and quality compliance on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• One to two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, wash and reassemble freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Operate semi-automatic equipment (pedestal buffers, wash machines, ultrasonic washers).
• Handle valves, parts and tools safely.
• Use power and manual tools correctly.
• Follow all quality, safety rules and procedures.
