Responsibilities

• Basic disassembly and washing of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Operate semi-automatic equipment such as pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultrasonic washers.
• Handle valves, parts, tools in a safe manner.
• Proper use of power and manual tools (impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools).
• Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties and DOT Hazardous Materials training as required.
• Must adhere to Integrated Management System policies and KPIs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Trains on 1st shift- 6 AM - 4:30 PM, Mon - Thur

Work shift is 4:45 PM - 3:15 AM Mon - Thur + overtime Fridays as needed

• Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
