Job summary

New York Air Brake is hiring a Repair Technician I for the Riverside, MO facility. The role starts on second shift with a starting pay range of $17-$19 per hour and a one-shift training on the morning schedule (Mon-Thu 6:00 AM–4:30 PM). After moving to second shift, hours are Mon-Thu 4:45 PM–3:15 AM with overtime on Fridays, plus a $1/hour differential for the second shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• One to Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, wash, and reassemble freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Identify serviceable vs. non serviceable parts.
• Operate semi-automatic equipment (pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultrasonic washers).
• Handle valves, parts, tools in a safe manner.
• Use power and manual tools (impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools).
• Follow quality, safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties; annual hazardous waste management; DOT Hazmat shipper every 3 years.
• Understand and support Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Adhere to Integrated Management System policies and KPIs.
