Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing in Newton, NC seeks a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift to act as the technical Quality resource for Gear Manufacturing and Assembly. You will train staff, audit quality systems, and establish containment for non-conformances while driving process improvements using established procedures and measurement methods.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree and 3–5+ years in manufacturing quality, with blueprint reading, IATF/ISO audits, and SPC/SAP experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 3–5+ years of relevant manufacturing quality experience.
• Experience with IATF/ISO audits and internal audits preferred.
• Knowledge of SPC and measurement methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training on Quality and EHS systems across shifts.
• Perform product and process audits to ensure compliance.
• Collect data to support problem solving, validation, and change control.
• Inspect raw materials and investigate suspect materials or finished goods.
• Document rework procedures and train operators on rework.
• Support PPAP/PTR tracking and change management for the shift.
