Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the second-shift repair of mechanical rolls in a fast-paced shop environment. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution that meets customer specifications and schedules.

The role requires a B.E. or 5+ years’ experience with paper machine rolls, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to guide a developing team on the shop floor. You will coordinate with the first shift and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 5+ years' experience with paper machine rolls.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine tools and fabrication operations.
• Ability to lead second-shift teams, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with first shift.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor second-shift employees in the repair of mechanical rolls.
• Monitor production flow, priorities, and turnaround times to keep work moving.
• Ensure safety, procedures, and quality requirements are followed; document inspections and work instructions.
• Provide hands-on guidance, troubleshoot on the shop floor, and drive continuous improvement.
