Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the mechanical roll repair shop on the second shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-focused execution of customer roll repair.

You will lead and coach a developing workforce, monitor workflow and turnaround times, ensure proper documentation, and collaborate with first-shift supervision to maintain smooth operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 5+ years' experience with paper machine rolls
• Knowledge of machine tools and fabrication operations
• Background check and drug screen required for employment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Lead and support second-shift employees in daily roll repair
• Ensure work is safe, efficient and meets quality requirements
• Monitor production flow, priorities and turnaround times
• Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to less experienced staff
• Coordinate with first-shift supervision for smooth shift transitions
• Ensure proper documentation, inspections and work instructions
• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving on the shop floor
• Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
