Job summary

Nefab South Central Houston is seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to lead daily production scheduling and supervise the shift. You will ensure safe, efficient deployment of resources, coordinate with maintenance, planning, and quality teams, and report to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or equivalency in combination of education and experience
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and production documents
• Experience working with steel, wood, corrugate, foam, or other traded materials is an asset
• Experience applying and enforcing OSHA requirements and applicable workplace safety standards
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Lead and support production employees: Supervise daily work, open and close the plant as required, assign workloads, provide training, motivate the team, and support recruitment and performance management with the Manager.
• Plan and coordinate production: Schedule and expedite work orders, balance production capacity with customer-service needs, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
• Maintain quality, safety, and compliance: Ensure products meet company and customer standards, support ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements, and maintain safe operations in line with applicable OSHA and local standards.
• Monitor and improve operations: Track production times and efficiency, identify improvement opportunities, and review production information to support continuous workflow.
• Coordinate equipment and workplace upkeep: Schedule machine maintenance with the Production Manager, maintain production tools, and ensure good housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Oversee materials, warehouse, and logistics: Manage finished goods storage, coordinate shipping and receiving, and oversee the company delivery truck’s use.
• Collaborate and support administration: Work with planning, engineering, management, contractors, suppliers, and vendors to resolve issues; review production documentation and provide input on budgets, capital expenses, and feasibility studies.
