Smurfit Westrock in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Converting department on the 2nd shift (2 pm – 11 pm). You will lead the team, ensure safety, quality, and on-time production, and drive efficiency while coaching staff and coordinating with other shifts.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years of converting supervisory experience, and a proven track record in lean manufacturing. Relocation is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• 3+ years of converting packaging supervisory experience is required.
• Experience in a Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong problem-solving track record and continuous improvement mindset.
• Collaborative across functions; capable of coaching staff.
• On-shift troubleshooting for process and maintenance.
• Self-directed, adaptable to multi-shift work.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing employees including performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Improve safety, environmental health for the facility.
• Oversee day-to-day shift operations with focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Monitor production activities to meet KPIs and schedule; reduce waste.
• Collaborate with other teams to improve efficiency and reduce overtime.
• Control workload and use of labor, tools, and equipment efficiently.
• Lead safety briefs and maintain a safe workplace environment.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety regulations and policies.
• Track daily production goals and report on scorecards.
• Plan workforce needs and manage attendance and shifts.
• Promote positive employee relations and cross-functional communication.
• Supervise daily production activities and monitor performance.
• Participate in Daily Management Systems to drive performance.
