Operating within a high-capacity facility, this role carries complete shift accountability for safety, crew deployment, throughput, and quality assurance. Direct Floor Operations: Maintain an active shop-floor presence to oversee daily processing across high-volume production units.
Manage Shift Manpower: Brief shift leaders, review operational priorities, and strategically assign line crews to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize throughput.
Drive Output Targets: Monitor key performance indicators—including schedule attainment, order completion, and labor efficiency metrics to hit production goals.
Enforce Safety Standards: Exercise immediate stop-work authority for hazards, enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE compliance, and lead incident root-cause investigations.
Maintain Quality Frameworks: Ensure operator adherence to customer specifications and ISO quality standards to guarantee audit readiness.
Minimize Line Downtime: Respond rapidly to equipment disruptions, coordinate emergency maintenance response, and maintain accurate downtime logging.
Lead & Coach Workforce: Provide hands-on coaching, performance evaluations, and policy enforcement for assigned hourly personnel and crew leads.
Execute Shift Transitions: Complete thorough end-of-shift reports and conduct detailed handoffs to incoming management for operational continuity.
Industrial Leadership Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on supervisory or team lead experience in heavy manufacturing, metal processing, or similar industrial settings.
Technical Processing Background: Proven experience overseeing heavy manufacturing equipment operations and high-throughput production lines.
Quality System Literacy: Strong proficiency reading work orders and technical specifications, with working knowledge of industrial quality management systems.
Safety Protocol Mastery: Comprehensive working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, hazard mitigation, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Workforce Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and hold hourly production personnel accountable in a fast-paced environment.
Shift & Schedule Flexibility: Ability and willingness to support extended operational hours and shift rotations in a heavy manufacturing facility.
Detailed Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to maintain accurate production logs, downtime tracking, and shift handoffs.
