Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for a premier heavy industrial manufacturer in the Greater Cleveland area. The role carries full shift accountability for safety, throughput, and quality, with executive mentorship and strong autonomy.

The position manages floor operations, manpower, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Leadership experience in heavy manufacturing or metal processing.
Experience overseeing heavy manufacturing equipment and high-throughput lines.
Ability to read work orders and specifications; familiarity with quality management systems.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, hazard mitigation, and LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

Direct floor operations and oversee daily processing across high-volume units.
Brief shift leaders, assign crews, and optimize throughput to remove bottlenecks.
Track KPIs like schedule attainment, orders completed, and labor efficiency to meet goals.
Enforce safety standards, perform LOTO compliance, and lead investigations.
Ensure operator adherence to customer specs and ISO quality standards for audits.
Respond to equipment disruptions, coordinate maintenance, log downtime accurately.
Coach and evaluate hourly personnel and line leads for performance and policy adherence.
Prepare end-of-shift reports and handoffs to oncoming management for continuity.
