Job summary

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Pittsboro, NC. You will lead on-shift activities for crew, drive improvements in EHS, quality and productivity, and collaborate with teams to meet daily production goals.

The role requires a minimum of a high school diploma and 5 years manufacturing experience; additional qualifications include an associate degree, supervisory experience, troubleshooting skills, and Green Belt certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) combined years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Associate’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• One (1) year supervisory and/or management experience.
• One (1) year of experience troubleshooting and problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
• One (1) year experience participating in Green Belt projects and/or have a Green Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead on shift activities for crew in assigned department to drive EHS, quality and productivity to meet plant goals.
• Provide direct supervision and development to production and/or hourly employees.
• Plan and coordinate priorities, allocate work assignments, and regulate production processes to meet daily requirements.
• Monitor production rates, yields and quality, and provide feedback to employees and supervisor on results.
• Organize and review changeovers to minimize downtime and address scheduling and quality issues.
• Lead Kaizen continuous improvement sessions and Lean initiatives to reduce costs and improve processes.
• Act as primary plant management representative during off shifts.
