Job summary

Dessert Holdings in Pembroke, NC seeks a Production Shift Manager (2nd Shift) to lead the manufacturing floor, drive safety, quality and efficiency, and develop the next generation of supervisors. You will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for achieving KPIs, building standard work, and eliminating downtime through continuous improvement while developing people.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years leadership experience in a related industry.
• Proven manufacturing leadership with process-oriented operations.
• High school diploma; degree in technical/engineering or related field is advantageous.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training/certifications preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Working understanding of Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Coaches, counsels, mentors, and develops first-level supervisors and others within their department.
• Ensure safety programs and standards are followed and foster an engaged safety culture.
• Motivate, hire, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team to meet goals.
• Translate plant goals to all levels and ensure alignment on performance data.
• Identify and address production schedule issues to minimize impact.
• Define and implement actions to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Achieve KPIs and improve on-time delivery, productivity, and quality.
• Ensure cross-training and develop staff to deliver goals and deliverables.
• Promote professional and technical development of staff.
• Assess supervisor performance and provide feedback.
• Use continuous improvement tools to eliminate losses and improve reliability.
