Job summary

3M is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Pittsboro, NC. You will lead on-shift activities, ensure safety and quality through proactive training and daily supervision, and coordinate production to meet daily goals.

The role involves Kaizen participation and Lean deployment to reduce costs and improve processes. The position requires strong leadership, a solid manufacturing background, and the ability to work onsite in North Carolina with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Five years of manufacturing experience in various sectors (private/public/government/military).
• Preferred: Associate's degree or higher; supervisory/management experience; Green Belt experience/certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-shift activities for the assigned department to drive results in EHS, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure a safe working environment through inspections, audits, and proper work methods.
• Provide training and direct supervision to production/hourly staff; communicate effectively with the team.
• Plan and coordinate priorities, assign work, and regulate production to meet daily goals.
• Monitor rates, yields, and quality; provide feedback to teams and supervisors.
• Coordinate changeovers to minimize downtime and address scheduling/quality/run-time issues.
• Lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives; propose cost-reduction and quality-improvement ideas.
• Act as primary plant management representative during off shifts.
