Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a 2nd shift supervisor in St. Charles, IL. The role manages production activities on a 2pm–10pm shift, guiding employees, auditing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office/MAC tools. The position offers fulltime hours with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing/operations environment.
• Able to apply policies, procedures, regulations and program objectives to duties.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office/MAC word processing.
• Excellent written and oral communication across departments.
• Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and pri­oritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes to confirm production specs are met.
• Maintain positive relationships and direct employees to the appropriate manager for policy questions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, policies, and procedures. Report issues to management.
• Inspect products/shipments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Review and approve machine setups, production samples, and shipments as needed.
• Identify opportunities for continual improvement and coordinate production activities with other departments.
• Train new employees, contract workers, and guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
• May update shift schedules and enter attendance transactions.
