Job summary

Jefferson Industries Corporation is seeking an Apprentice for the Press Maintenance team on 2nd shift (02:00 pm - 10:30 pm). The role involves inspecting presses and conveyors, supporting shutdowns, and learning to become a Press Maintenance Technician.

This entry-level position offers weekly pay, shift premiums, and a strong benefits package including medical options, 401k, and tuition reimbursement. Training toward technician level is provided within a 2-year program.

Qualifications

• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
• Able to work odd shifts, weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and overtime.
• Must be quality oriented and understand how every task may impact quality.
• Perform job duties in a safe, effective, and accurate manner.
• Ability to use computer.
• Must be self-starter with own continuous improvement agenda.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform bi-weekly inspections on all presses and report findings in Plex inspection report.
• Perform monthly inspections on all presses and report findings in Plex inspection report.
• Perform monthly inspections on all scrap conveyors and report findings in Plex inspection report.
• Support shutdown activities.
• Verify needed spare parts are on hand and stocked.
• Perform basic maintenance activities, which may include basic wiring or similar activities.
• All work should be recorded in Plex. This should include work was done and how long.
• Work with Press Maintenance Technician to learn technical skills needed to develop to become a Press Maintenance Technician.
• Follow all Safety Policies and wear all proper PPE.
• Other duties as assigned
