Job summary

Sheridan Group in Wisconsin is seeking a 2nd shift press helper to assist operators with basic set-up and quality checks. This role supports progression through press career ladders and includes training for future levels.

The pay range is $19.75-$21.25 per hour, plus shift differential, with potential shift changes as advancement occurs. The position requires basic mechanical and math skills, the ability to learn make-readies, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and math skills required.
• Ability to learn bundling, roll tending, and make-readies while following press operators and supervisors.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Type II Forklift certification.
• Knowledge of arithmetic and English language spelling and rules.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to understand work instructions and equipment, and to perform the job.
• Ability to complete work and paperwork accurately following procedures.
• Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime; prompt attendance.
• Prompt and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in set-up of folder, stacker, and sheeter.
• Bundle signatures and stack on pallet using hoist when available.
• Ensure pallets and materials are stocked; report shortages.
• Perform minor machine adjustments and assist in web up of press.
• Assist make-ready: wipe blankets, change ink, clean press area; mount plates/blankets; maintain equipment.
• Keep department clean and orderly.
• Grease, oil, and maintain press equipment as scheduled.
• Promote Sheridan philosophies and continuous improvement with teams.
• Train to perform next level to cover absences and progression.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Model Sheridan core values in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
