Central Garden & Pet/Kaytee is currently looking for a 2nd Shift Pellet Machine Operator to join our team at Kaytee in Chilton, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Pelletmill /Hammermill Equipment and the Bagging Line.

Key Responsibilities
- Start machines and monitor operation to detect malfunctions; make adjustments or repairs as needed while assisting in manufacturing processes.
- Enter production codes into batching computer (Repete), set up machines, prepare dating equipment, and ensure proper operation of bags and tape.
- Complete production work orders, move and wrap pallets, verify correct counts, and record completion.
- Inspect bags for quality, including sewing, ribbon integrity, and correct code dating and ID.
- Test product weights and visually check for proper product mix.
- Mark pallets for proper destination.
- Assemble hand-add barrels with correct vitamins/minerals and prepare them in advance as needed.
- Follow all quality and food safety protocols in accordance with FSMA, USDA, and SQF standards, including obtaining a PCQI certificate.
- Adhere to all safety initiatives in line with OSHA standards.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds frequently, with bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- High school diploma preferred.
- Effective communication skills to promote teamwork.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prioritize work orders.
- Good organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

Working Conditions
