Job summary

O'Neal Steel is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor for our Peru, IL facility, 3rd shift (10:30pm-7am). You will oversee processing, loading and shipping to meet delivery and quality goals, while enforcing safety standards and cost controls.

The role serves as the front-line liaison between hourly staff and management, driving Lean initiatives, coordinating schedules, training, and ensuring on-time shipments. Experience in steel or manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a steel service center or metal processing/manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Strong safety training background and experience with truck scheduling/routing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse and delivery employees, including schedules, performance, and payroll.
• Ensure training, work instructions, and tools are provided to staff.
• Coordinate and execute the production work schedule.
• Develop cross-training opportunities for employees.
• Supervise shop activities to meet quality standards and delivery dates.
• Utilize lean principles to drive continuous process improvement.
• Monitor service levels and adjust staffing to meet targets.
• Assist in maintenance planning to maximize uptime and asset utilization.
