Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA is seeking a Welder/Fitter for the 2nd shift to join our federal team. You will read isometric drawings, work from 3-D models, lay out and weld complex piping and pressure vessels to Navy standards.

The role requires 3+ years of welding in SMAW/FCAW/GTAW, the Navy 2" pipe test, and the ability to work safely in all positions. Benefits start on day one, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Navy Standard 2" pipe test with backing ring in 6G using E7018 filler.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years welding in SMAW, FCAW and GTAW in all positions.
• Ability to use tape measures, levels, laser levels, squares and fixtures.
• Ability to read prints, sketches and method sheets; work safely.

Responsibilities

• Work from isometric drawings, 3-D models, welding symbols, and code specs.
• Weld on floor, platforms or tables; fixture assembly of pressure vessels.
• Weld in all positions and layout from centers; fabricate internal/external parts.
• Prepare material for welding; clean and weld per Navy standards.
• Repair welding on defective materials; maintain a clean, safe area.
