Johnson Controls Navy Systems seeks a Welder/Fitter for the 2nd shift at our York, PA facility. The role involves welding complex piping and pressure vessel assemblies to Navy standards, using SMAW/FCAW/GTAW, and reading isometric drawings and code specs to fabricate from prints.
You will operate on floors, platforms or tables, perform lay-outs, brazing, and welding in all positions, while maintaining safety and a tidy work area. Must be a U.S. citizen for federal contracts.
We are seeking a Welder/Fitter, 2nd Shift to join our federal team at our York, PA location. We're keeping the Navy cool. Literally. Our team at the Grantley Plant custom designs, develops and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels around the world. The job consists of performing duties required to plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, fit, braze tubing, thread, weld complex piping, system components and weld coded, and noncoded pressure vessel assemblies and subassemblies, working with ferrous, nonferrous metals, using conventional or automatic submerged arc welding and difficult positions of stick, tig, and manual arc welding of Navy equipment.
Location: York, PA
Shift: 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm)
Pay: Starting rate of pay is $40.31 (plus $2.00 for 2nd shift) per hour
Union: This is a bargaining unit (Union) position.
