Job summary

Wieland in Wheeling, IL is hiring a 2nd Shift Multicoiler Operator to run the multicoil in the Finishing Dept. You will ensure safe, efficient operation and complete orders on time per WFS priorities.

The position is on-site, with 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shifts and a $21–$25 per hour pay range plus a $0.50/hr differential. Bi-weekly pay schedule and opportunities to grow within this large metal manufacturing group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in heavy metals or related manufacturing preferred.
• Maintain production schedule and meet throughput, yield and scrap goals.
• Monitor material quality: flatness, gauge, hardness, surface finish and edge.
• Identify coils and samples properly.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and in a team with safety as the top priority.
• Review orders, priorities and locate material in the WFS system.
• Set up the proper pallet onto the end platform / lazy Susan.
• Stage and position coils on the loading table for processing.
• Safely operate a vacuum lifting system to transfer coils between platforms.
• Ends of coils welded together to produce a continuous run.
• Transport coil onto the end platform and prepare for next job.
