Job summary

Wieland Group in Wheeling, IL is hiring a 2nd Shift Strapping Line Operator to operate and monitor the strapping line on-site. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient production to meet daily orders in the Wieland Factory Suite system.

The position requires practical experience in heavy manufacturing, accurate measurement using calipers/micrometers, and strong English communication. Competitive pay and a shift differential are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in heavy metals manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to read calipers, micrometers and use measurement tools.
• Clear English communication, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with safety as a priority.
• Identify coils and samples accurately.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team with safety as the number one priority.
• Perform routine inspections of the work area for proper housekeeping.
• Review orders and priorities in the WFS system and document work orders.
• Operate overhead crane to load coils and prepare packaging materials.
• Input coil parameters into control panel and cycle the machine.
• Monitor strapping quality and place spacers or cardboard as required.
• Label material and prepare for the Packaging Line and Logistics.
