Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanical Technician for Plant 3 to support capital projects and maintenance activities on-site. The role requires hands-on mechanical experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will install, move, or modify equipment; update schematics; procure parts; provide technical assistance; and develop preventative maintenance procedures to improve reliability and safety across the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five years hands-on mechanical/maintenance experience.
• Associates degree or apprenticeship completion preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, HVAC, equipment installation, fabrication and welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, or plumbing systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to promote continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Engineers with completion of capital projects
• Install, move, or modify plant equipment
• Procurement of repair parts, spare parts, or raw materials as needed
• Update or create new schematics and drawings
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff for repairs and modifications
• Create and implement preventative maintenance and repair procedures
