Overview

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Repair Technician to perform Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of aviation components in compliance with FAA and company regulations. The role involves coordinating with supervisors, engineering, and cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve repair, overhaul, test, and quality issues.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in continuous improvement, environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
  • Understand and deliver on individual and departmental performance goals.
  • Work closely with supervisors and support personnel to resolve problems.
  • Use the operating (SAP) system to enter and retrieve daily activity data.
  • Maintain safe work habits and a neat, orderly work area.
  • Follow specific instructions and use required equipment to perform work according to FAA and company regulations.
  • Interface with customers, including government personnel or auditors, as necessary.
  • Inspect, rework, repair, scrap, and replace components, modules, and LRU’s.
  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair manufactured electronic accessory components, including testing.
  • Check clearances, tolerances, and alignment; make replacements and adjustments to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Record data to determine acceptance or rejection of maintenance actions.
  • Identify correct parts using part numbers and serialization.
  • Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance, and dielectric properties of electromechanical devices.
  • Independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
  • Participate in the site’s EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives and programs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of technical sheets, work instructions, or blueprints.
  • Experience in a FAA Part 145 MRO environment, especially with aircraft power control systems.
  • Preferably 4–6 years of aerospace industry experience, with exposure to fuel system equipment.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • U.S. Person status (lawful permanent resident, protected individual, U.S. citizen, or refugee/asylee).

Shift

Second Shift: 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday to Friday. 90‑day training on the first shift before a permanent move to the second shift.

Health and Safety

The position is safety sensitive per FAA Guidelines. Candidates will undergo drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s 14CFR part120 and 49CFR part40.
