Job summary

RTX seeks a qualified electronics technician to support repair, inspection, and assembly of electronic components in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will enter and retrieve data in SAP, inspect parts, and ensure conformance to FAA and company regulations while maintaining a safe work area and collaborating with supervisors and support staff.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • English language proficiency to meet FAR 65.71(a)(2) and FAR 145.155 requirements.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and retrieve information from SAP system for daily activities.
  • Inspect and disposition components and modules; rework/repair, scrap, and replace as required.
  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic accessory components, including testing.
  • Follow FAA and company regulations and maintain safe work habits.
  • Interface with customers, including government personnel or auditors, as necessary.

What You Will Do:
  • Participate in the company’s continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activities and initiatives.
  • Understand and deliver on individual and departmental established performance goals.
  • Work closely with supervisors and other support personnel to resolve problems.
  • Enter and retrieve information from our operating (SAP) system to perform daily activities.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • Follow specific instructions and use all required equipment to perform assigned work according to FAA and company regulations.
  • Interface with customers (government personnel or auditors) as necessary.
  • Inspect and disposition components and modules.
  • Rework/repair, scrap, and replace/order components, modules, and LRU’s as required.
  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all types of manufactured electronic accessory components as required including testing.
  • Check clearances, tolerances, and alignment, making necessary replacements and adjustments to assure conformance to specified configurations.
  • Record data to accept or reject criteria to approved maintenance data.
  • Identify proper parts with part number and serialization.
  • Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance testing, and dielectric testing of electronics and mechanical devices.
  • Follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
  • Support and participate in the site’s EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Work 2nd Shift 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; Monday to Friday. May train on 1st Shift for roughly 90 days: 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the United States) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • Meet FAR 65.71(a)(2) (be able to read, speak and understand the English language, or in the case of an applicant who does not meet this requirement and who is employed outside of the United States by a U.S air carrier, have his certificate endorsed "Valid only outside the United States.").
  • Meet FAR 145.155 (b) (a certified repair station must ensure its inspector understand, read and write English.)
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours.
