Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Maintenance A – Mechanical & Electrical technician for the 2nd shift (3–11 pm, M–F) in North Carolina. Responsibilities include setting up, maintaining, installing, repairing, and rearranging complex equipment and their controls, with diagnostic work conducted with minimal supervision.

You will handle mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including high-stakes safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 2nd shift availability (3–11 pm) with training on 1st shift
• 2+ years reading complex mechanical/electrical drawings (P&ID)
• 3+ years in electrical/mechanical maintenance
• 2+ years up to 480V experience
• 2+ years computer skills for maintenance docs/email
• 2+ years operating mills, drills, punches, grinders, saws, or lathes
• 3+ years with micrometers/vernier/dial indicators
• 2+ years troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic systems and control circuits

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, alter, install, repair or reorganize complex equipment and controls
• Diagnose malfunctions with minimal supervision
• Service and repair systems for chemical or caustic equipment
• Work with voltages up to 480V and related components
• Meet safety, radiation and industrial safety regulations
• Operate forklifts, cranes and other lifting equipment
• Read technical prints and follow instructions
• Coordinate equipment restart with trained operators
