Job summary

Technique is seeking a Material Handler at our Jackson, Michigan facility. You will move materials, stage at work centers, receive shipments, and maintain accurate inventory to keep production running.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of material handling, a forklift hi-lo license or ability to certify, and comfort with ERP/inventory systems. This is a full-time, 40-hour week with overtime, shift 2nd.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to read job travelers, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Basic computer skills; ERP or inventory systems preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Move materials – Load, unload, and move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
• Stage jobs for production – Stage raw materials and components at work centers according to production schedules and job travelers.
• Receive incoming shipments – Verify counts against packing lists and purchase orders, inspect materials for damage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy – Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and location updates in the ERP system.
• Prepare outbound shipments – Pick, pack, label, and stage finished goods for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
• Maintain documentation – Keep accurate documentation for material movements, receipts, and shipments.
• Keep work areas safe and organized – Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse, staging, and shipping areas, following all safety procedures.
• Support production teams – Communicate material shortages or discrepancies to supervision and support production teams as needed.
• Other duties as assigned – Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager.
