Job summary

Technique is seeking a Material Handler for our Jackson, Michigan facility. This role reports to the Materials Manager and supports the safe and efficient movement of materials across the plant, staging per schedules and verifying shipments.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of material handling or warehouse experience, a forklift license or ability to obtain certification, and familiarity with ERP/inventory systems.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift (hi-lo) license required or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to read job travelers, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Move materials – Load, unload, and move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
• Stage raw materials and components at work centers according to production schedules and job travelers.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify counts against packing lists and purchase orders, and inspect materials for damage.
• Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and location updates in the ERP system to keep records accurate.
• Pick, pack, label, and stage finished goods for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for material movements, receipts, and shipments.
• Keep warehouse, staging, and shipping areas safe, clean, and organized, following safety procedures.
• Communicate material shortages or discrepancies to supervision and support production teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager.
